Watch your content everywhere at any time
LeVR is imcube’s main product and application based on imcube’s technologies. The objective of LeVR is to give users the possibility to watch their favorite content (e.g. sports, concerts, films, reality shows) in virtual reality environments. LeVR brings users into the VIP lounge of a stadium so that they can watch the game from the VIP’s perspective. But LeVR can also bring you into a pub or other environments to enjoy the content whereever the user wants to enjoy it, no matter if it is 180 degree, 360 degree or standard 2D or 3D content in 16:9.
How does it work?
1. The user downloads his environment from a database as app to his device (e.g. smart phone or computer), e.g. a VIP lounge.
2. The user puts on his VR glasses and starts the app.
3. The user then selects the program: live or recorded content (e.g. football champions league final).
4. The user is now in a 360° virtual VIP lounge, in front of him the big panorama screen
with a 180° field of view displaying the football match captured e.g. with the OmniCam. To the right is a second screen showing the standard TV football match.
Full Picture and Applications
The streaming of video content into a 360° VR environment is the basic application in order to get users immersed in an environment he wants to be. However, this approach can be extended to multiple streams, 360° content display, advertisement, navigation and even social interaction:
The main content should be displayed on a 180° panorama screen so that the user feels more immersed than whatching content on a normal TV screen e.g. at home. Furthermore, a additional displays may show e.g. further information (e.g. statistics of the game, comments from social media networks, i.e. second screen application, etc.) or the standard broadcast streams so that the user has the chance to turn his head and watch e.g. close-ups of of the action.
Advertisers have the chance to send advertisement onto predetermined ad spaces within the 360° VR environment (e.g. flyer on the table, TV at one wall, banner below the main screen, etc.).
For smart phones, the content itself is just a video and thus, the user can only turn his head in VR space. If the user watches the content with active VR glasses like Oculus Rift, the user can walk around within the environment and can go even closer to any of the screens.
Furthermore, a „second screen“ scenario with with comments from social media networks (e.g. Twitter) can be displayed next to the main screen. But also friends can be invited to join you in your environment either as avatars or as real 3D models (? ActVirtual live). The user can then communicate with his friends while watching a football match.
A further application is that users may watch their standard films, TV series in virtual 360 environments instead on their tablet or TV screen at home. E.g., they may want to watch „Game of Thrones“ in an old British castle or a nature documentary about tigers in a jungle. The user can choose the virtual 360 environment of places which provide to him the right atmosphere.
